The story behind this retreat

Every transformative journey begins with a spark of inspiration. Travel, in its essence, is an invitation to step beyond the familiar and awaken a deeper empathy and reverence for the vast, interconnected world we inhabit. In an age increasingly shaped by digital connection yet marked by growing isolation, the value of genuine human presence and meaningful experience becomes ever more vital.
Yoga, too, is a journey — but one that turns inward. It is a path through the intricate landscapes of emotion, sensation, and self-awareness. Through this inward exploration, we cultivate a profound connection to our true nature, one that grounds us in stillness even amid life’s external chaos.
When we bring yoga and travel together, we create a unique alchemy — an expansion of consciousness that dissolves the illusion of separation. The boundary between outer and inner experience softens, revealing the deeper truth of union, the very essence of what yogic teachings call yoga — to yoke, to unify.
In October, I invite the yoga community to embark on a journey both physically distant and spiritually intimate — a return to origins. In the heart of Africa, where raw landscapes and ancient wisdom speak in silence and song, we will immerse ourselves in nature’s unfiltered beauty. Among sacred rhythms and wild encounters — perhaps even meeting the gaze of a lion — we’ll be reminded of the fundamental interconnectedness of all life. A retreat not just from the world, but into it

Climate & seasons
Tanzania, located near the equator, offers a warm climate all year
round. Zanzibar, in particular, enjoys an average temperature of
around 27c.
The sea water is always warm at 25c, but the tides can fluctuate. The equatorial sun can be intense, so it's important to pack sunscreen with a high protection factor, a hat, and a UV shirt for swimming if your skin is sensitive to sunburn.
Winter, typically spanning from October to April, boasts the most pleasant temperatures, ranging from 10–25C (45–70F). It does get colder during the night, so it is advisable to pack some warm clothing.
